Today, Todd Sharkey became one of only a handful of Ohio candidates and elected officials to sign the No Climate Tax Pledge from Americans for Prosperity:
No Climate Tax Pledge:
To date, Todd is the only candidate in the 13th District to sign the pledge, which is a commitment that all bills relating to climate change issues should be revenue neutral and should not increase the tax burden on the American people.
As the No Climate Tax site explains, "This is an effort to separate the tax question from the climate change issue. Many climate change proposals at all levels of government include substantial increases in government revenues. We don’t believe it is appropriate to hide tax hike in environmental bills. These bills should be revenue neutral, holding taxpayers harmless by offsetting every dollar of revenue raised through environmental taxes and regulations with tax cuts. This approach allows us to have open and honest debate about whether we should act on climate, as well as having open and honest, and quite separate, debate over the appropriate level of taxes."

As a Constitutional Conservative representing the people of Northeast Ohio...
I pledge to uphold the Constitution of the United States of America by enacting legislation and reform that will protect the freedom of the American people and limit the power of the federal government.
I will endeavor to protect the liberties of the American people.
I pledge to begin working toward a federal government that will reestablish the rights of the people and the states as they are protected within the Constitution through the 10th Amendment.

"Above all, we must realize that no arsenal, or no weapon in the arsenals of the world, is so formidable as the will and moral courage of free men and women. It is a weapon our adversaries in today's world do not have."
-President Ronald Reagan
"Experience should teach us to be most on our guard to protect liberty when the Government's purposes are beneficent. Men born to freedom are naturally alert to repel invasion of their liberty by evil minded rulers. The greatest dangers to liberty lurk in insidious encroachment by men of zeal well meaning but without understanding."
- Louis D. Brandeis
